I have low self esteem so i always set myself up for a fall whenever i get involved with someone.

I feel compelled to explain! Whenever 'I' FEEL (it may be a non-issue for the other) I had said something nasty/uncalled for or acted in a way contrary to my nature (for whatever reasons), I have those guilt pangs eating the very insides of me. At that point I can overcome my ego easily, put myself at ground level and have no qualms in asking for forgiveness (I can surprise myself with all the grovelling). That alone lifts me up...

This has more to do with my own self than the other party. I can self-flagellate with an amazing expertise to whip out all the traces of offending ego. I am born under the sign of critic but since it was on the cusp (Virgo/Libra), I feel the need for balance all the time.....(Did someone say something like 'stoop to conquer'? Well, its not all that bad to win yourself back). Its part of growing up, however old and experienced we may think we are, there are always new things to explore about ourselves.

P.S. I know I have broken a promise but again I couldn't resist an explanation....(I may answer a few more while I am at it!!!)

It's important to know how to balance both. You should be critical of yourself but not dwell on it. You should be able to take your criticism and find ways to remedy what your criticized about yourself. You are always going to be you so you need to love the traits about your body and mind that make you who you are. Usually the things that are healthy for you to criticize are your actions or sometimes thoughts. Its a life long process that few have down.

In my many, many years of living............I have figured out that I am a good person and do not put myself down any more. It took too much hard work to get to where I am today.
Sometimes I do accidentally set myself up though by getting into a pickle.

Up, up, up!! I always think that putting yourself down is just fishing for compliments. Unfortunately, you start to live the "down"

I certainly know who I am, and where in society I belong... I put myself up when I know that excellence in that field is mine, and I put myself down when I know that I don't have enough knowledge on that given tasks, but I would love to learn or expand my knowledge on that matter. It is just a matter of self-awareness...
