I am 23 and I grew up with this look and I am telling you that it is the silliest thing ever! Take it from a woman's point of view. Wear tighter jeans! You look sloppy! We don't want to see you underware!

My son's are in their mid 30's and they never did this. But I knew a couple of their friends did. I wouldn't let their saggy jeans friends into my house unless they wore a belt. I am happy to hear from a girl your age that you think it's stupid. Maybe if you young women keep telling them they look dumb they will stop.

Grew up there, too, and had lots of guy friends. They do this to mostly hide, ahem, well, to put it nicely hormone surges. In the 60s and 70s boys carried books in their laps. Later on in the century they wore baggy pants so no one would know or see. It has nothing to do with showing off their underwear, and everything to do with hiding their, ahem, rapid body surges.
