Thankfully I live in a condo, so I don't need to mow lawns, or shovel snow at all.

That makes the snowfall a little bit less annoying.

I always dread the first snow of the season, because it appears to cause instant amnesia in every other driver on the road. It's like they've never seen the stuff before, and have totally forgotten that they drove through it with no problems as little as six months ago.

Instead, they all go freaking insane, and drive at 10 kmh, and still manage to lock up their brakes and skid through intersections and get in fender-benders left, right and centre. Every year!! It turns my ten minute commute to work into an hour or more.

We could definitely use a lot more snow here, though. We just a minor dusting last night. It's very rare for us to have no real snow by now. Our soil is now bone dry, and with no insulation or moisture input, next summer is going to be very bad for trees.

On the plus side, it probably also means we won't have as many mosquitoes.

Some towns north of us have had snow already but we haven't yet. I wouldn't care if it never snowed.I loved it when I was a kid though. The first big snow everybody gets out and shovels and the kids make snowmen and snow angels and go sledding. Every year I say I'm going to go Ice skating with my grandaughter and every year passes by without me buying skates. There is a park here where they turn all the paths into ice for skating in a big circle around the perimeter of Gage Park and they play music over the speakers . There is a little store where you can buy hot chocolate if you want.

Believe it or not, we had snow earlier this year for all of 45 minutes, here in SoCal! It was great. My son came in from outside and yelled at me "Mom, it's snowing out here, come look!" So, I walked over to the door, opened it and the flakes were huge. I grinned at the people in the complex because most of them hadn't ever seen snow before. I closed the door, opened the blind and realized that this is how I want to enjoy snow in the future - from behind a window. Not out in it.

I have always loved snow and for years took a bus in 18 degrees below zero and 15+ inches of snow. Oh, those were the good old days, with the operative word being - were. From now on, I'll just look at it.

And still, homemade vegetable soup and chili are the best for warming up after a jaunt in the snow. And maybe some hot chocolate or coffee with a splash of Bailey's.

Had a dusting of snow this morning (it'll be gone by noon).
when it gets to the point it's noticeable, get the plow out and the wife gets the blower out to clean the drive, walks, and field paths ( a walkway we keep up for our health). Depending on the snow, we may play in it like a couple of kids and do some snowballing and maybe build a snowman -- the dawg joins in and is usually the center of attention. A lot of the time the grandkids (and kids) come over and jump in on the cavorting. Once inside it's usually homemade soup or chili and cooffe and hot choclolate. Sometimes it's just pleasant to go outside (or stay inside) and just ogle the cleanliness of the white "paint".

Since retirement, I LOVE snow and wake up thankful that I don't have to go dig out the car and get on the road with all the screwballs....

I am not a winter sport person. When my kids were little and at home, we used to build snowmen, go sledding, etc. But, I don't do any of it anymore.

The only winter sport I ever liked was snow mobiling......

Now, I dress in my warm and soft "snugglies", put on some comfortable footies and laze around drinking hot chocolate (home made), maybe watch a movie and watch it snow from the comfort of my 10th floor apartment.

When the snow flies, is a real adventure getting out of our driveway.
After we reach the road, gotta hurry and park, then the snowplow comes by and pushes snow all around all of ours and neighbors vehicles.
Of course the snowplow only comes once per snow storm, no matter how much snow.
School is cancelled because people lose their brains and can't drive on 2" of snow.
We make snowmen in the yard. My husband makes tiny snowmen, usually a whole family of them, complete with twig arms, rock/acorn eyes.
Either my husband or I or the both of us shovel the sidewalk and then we throw snowballs at each other.
I like cooking when we have cold weather and snow. I make home made bread, vegetable soup, mostly whatever I feel like cooking.
We drink lots of hot tea w/lemon too.
I miss the kids being little because we used to have as much fun as they did building igloos and snow people.

When I was younger, I used to take a big piece of cardboard and use it as a sled to go down a snowy hill, We were poor and could not afford sleds or ice skates. I borrowed my girlfriends old skates.. Another thing we used to do was build snow forts and stock them with snowballs and have snowball fights. We used to catch snowflakes in our mouths or suck on icicles. But in those days, they were clean and not filled with pollutions in the air. That was in the good old days, I am now 76 soon to be 77. Kids nowadays have to much and appreciate very little!

When it snows if enough we usually do the usual, snowman building, fort building. We also go to the foothills close by and ride down on inner tubes, that is so much fun I love it. The younger ones go skiing and boarding, I tried it but I didn't like the lifts. I also get the grand kids with snowballs, and they make snow angels. We have ice skating year round indoors .

We don't get much snow here, only a couple times a year. The first snow always makes me feel so alive though, you can smell it's on the way. I like to take a walk in it. My daughter likes to ski. When we were back in WV we had lots of snow and went sleigh riding, had snowball fights and built snowmen. Sometimes we still get to visit in the winter. I like chili with crackers too and I just now had some hot chocolate, so I'll stick with that.

I love snow!! We don't get much where I live. When we do get a good snow, I like to put on boots and a warm coat, go out at night while the snow is falling. It's so quiet and peaceful and beautiful.
When I come home, usually have a fire in the wood stove, a hot buttered rum, get warm and cozy.
