My garbage disposal died and need replacement. I bought an Insinkerator Spacer Saver 5/8 HP, but have not replace it yet.
Do you recommend a garbage disposal with 5/8 HP or do you recommend going a step up, perhaps 3/4 or so?

The insinkerator is fine, if you can't chop it up with 5/8 hp, it doesn't belong in the drain.

I would go up. Disposers take a beating and the stronger the motor, the better.
