What's funny is that I thought America as an the continent of America and realized after "state or provice" that you were talking about the United States of America.
Anyway, Machu Pichu would have been the answer.
And the one after is ... well don't you just love Seattle, Washington!

It seemed this question was just asked. My response would have to be the Grand Canyon. The area is colossal with views that change every minute. The canyon itself is a work of nature which has no duplication. And the main lodge is magnificent.
