So theres this white dude at my school. Hes nuts.
He wears braids in his hair, talks ghetto and acts ghetto. Says he grew up in the hood, and he doesnt like white people at all.

On his myspace page theres this big disclaimer basically proving how black he is.
He has tried to talk to me on several occasions but I feel like hes putting on an act and thats not really him. I mean come on...how can you say you dont like your own race?
Should I tell him to stop acting this way or do you think that thats just the way he is and I need to accept it?
He doesnt seem like hes being true to himself.
He has gone overboard with the whole being black thing! lol

I'd be pretty offended if he says he's black because he grew up in the hood and talks and acts ghetto. That doesn't make someone black.

He'll learn on his own.

Well, I think the issue is more racially charged because of the whole "black" vs. "white" thing in this country. But, in a normal world where racism didn't exist, you gotta understand that people sometimes develop affinities for other cultures...ex. some people are really into Japanese culture, others are into European culture, still others are into African or Indian culture, and these people are not from those cultures. So while it may seem weird, this guy is just interested in African American culture...and that's ok. It may be just a phase he's going thru.

My advice, if he's nice, talk to him. If not, just blow him off. But I think the so-called "wigga" thing is probably just a phase.

sounds like he is either reallllly insecure and trying to make friends or he is mocking black ppl or he is really ignorant.. Either way, I am not sure he is sincere. I mean, not to sound rude , or ignorant but only black ppl can be black ppl. ya know?? But what got me was the comment that he hates his own race?? I find that hard to believe. he really needs help. I don't blame u for getting frustrated!

Yeah i lived in many all black areas as a child, and me and the other few white people didn't act like idiots. A friend braided my hair a few times... And you tend to dress like the people around you dress as a child. Braids are not exclusive to black people, many cultures wear them.. We also didn't hate white people, or try to convince ourselves or others that we had "blackness". It DOES smell of fake funk.
These people are good for a laugh. If he's your friend, just sit him down and tell him he's being made fun of. No one likes Malibu's Most Wanted. Maybe find out where he's really from and out him?

I think the way he wears his hair and talks is fine. I think people should be able to act the way they want, no matter what their skin color is, but I think he should open his eyes a little bit and see that not everyone from a single race is the same. He can't just dislike everyone just because of their skin color. If you feel you need to talk to him about that you should.

And yeah, not all black people act the way he thinks they do.

Tell his what you think. If you feel he is being fack, say so. Honestly if you dont like it then stop talking to him and the problem will go away.
