Dose it really work? I have a 1985 firebird with a v6 2.8 and the people that owned the car before me did not take care of it at all (yes it runs like crap) but i dont have the money for a tune up for atleast another month should i wait or try Seafoam till i get the tune up?

Seafoam certainly won't hurt, but it probably won't help much either. You'll notice a big difference when you tun it up. If it's been neglected, don't skimp on the tune up. Change plugs. wires, filters, and anything else that needs to be changed. You'll' be a lot happier, and it will be money well spent.

Just used seafoam in my 2004 Mini Cooper S. Main reason I used it was for a little smoother idle, plus when its below 45 degrees out I had a pinging noise that would persist until it was shut off and restarted. Sounded like a sticking valve. It made the idle noticeably smoother, and the engine run smoother. This morning when it was started it was 30 degrees out and it made no pinging sound at all and ran pretty smooth.

Seafoam is not a miricle in a can...Do the tune up first and see how much it helps. A 2.8 is a POS anyway...so it sounds about normal to me>

Seafoam is good but. Redline fuel injector cleaner is better.
