I'm 20s and live with a friend thats 30s. I would like to move out and get my own apartment. I have a cat too so I have o think about that too. I was going to take on a second job to make the process faster. I'm planing on getting a second job temprary. Is there tricks on balancing 2 jobs? If so help out.

I pay for my phone, my own gas for the car, car loan and insurance. I don't depend on anyone I live with just a place to stay. How hard is it to be on your own?

You can do it, second jobs have to be flexible if your day job isn't.
Try to live on one job's income. With your current expenses you will also have the rent and utilities. I assume you were paying something to live with your friend so those expenses will be a little more. You could always get a roommate if you can't keep up.
Delivering pizza or waiting tables are common second jobs.

It is very hard to live on your own. It's not the general expenses that hurt, but the unexpected ones like your cat getting sick, a traffic ticket, having to fix your car, etc. These kill your savings. I recommend renting a room with an old couple or getting a roommate off craigslist.org.

Rather than get two jobs and give your future a kick start, electrify it by investing your time in education. Your best bet would be to obtain some sort of certificate or license on the side, such as a Real Estate license (study at home available, but I recommend going to the live classes for morale and a better understanding), paralegal certificate, R.N., etc. It will pay off in spades.

Balance.
Make sure you have at least 1 day off or you will get burned out & resentful.
Scheduling is key. A list of when bills r due. A shopping list & so on.
Make sure the 2nd company know this is a second job.
Get one at a place that will give you discounts! You are setting up your own place so a place like walmart where you can get a deal on food, clothes, household items will help your dollars go further.
Make it close to home so that all your time & energy is not eaten up by travel time & gas.
Good luck!!!

Good luck! I think you will make the right decision. And it is good that you want to move out, but first, you should get that second job.
