CH3COOCH3 Methyl acetate Water is also formed.

it is a reaction between an organic acid and an alkanol

this produces an ester molecule and also a molecule of water as it is a condensation reaction. Esters are commonly used as fragrances and flavourings e.g. fruits have their taste because of the natural esters formed when they grow :)
