Been like this for a week now. It sometimes feels like the bottom portion of the palm is burning. Have a little bit of pain in left shoulder/upper arm and my neck hurts, but it is concentrated in the lower arm/hand.

My doctor said this is nerve damage and wrote me out a script for vitamin B. I had some 800mg ibuprophen that I've been taking from time to time but it has no affect.

Could this be carpal tunnel? I've had a few shooting pains but not many.

I used to have slighter cases of this when riding my bike everyday. I have to wear the gloves specially designed to protect the nerves in my palms.

I am wearing the wrist brace but it isn't getting better. Feels like its getting worse. What do you think?

lol - i'm such a mess! I injured my right shoulder a few months ago and it still hurts! i think maybe i screwed up something in my neck when i did that.

good samaritan - moved a huge fallen branch from across a street at midnight. it didn't look like one branch and it didn't look heavy so, i grabbed it with one hand, gave it a yank and it yanked harder....

well, barry, according to the site you sent me to, I most likely have "cervical radiculopathy." Most likely caused by my shoulder injury.

- not a very good diagnosis.

But very good info and nice site - thank you.

Could be riding a bike with hands tight.

Sounds like a little touch of radial nerve compression. Most of us have bonked our funnybone and felt that intense fiery tingling burn sensation. Where the never ;passes through the point of the elbow. There's a spot where the nerve is a little less well protected, and a hit there is anthing BUT funny. Mainly this kind of symptom might be expected after some sort of injury, or compression of the nerve as it passes through a narrow channel between bone. Particular kinds of repetitive movement involving the elbow can aggravate the problem if you happen to have that t endency. It will come and go, but if the problem becomes really severe, or long lasting, a talk with an orthopaedic specialist to discuss possible treatment might be a good idea.

There are two or three possibilities, nerve trapped in shoulder area a stroke, or neck out putting tension on the rest.
It is best that you get a VIT B 12 injection then try relaxing really really relaxing get into a very warm bath and relax
Keep moving the fingers, regardless, have you any tight muscles in the upper back if you have you need to relax these and get some blood flowing through them If any muscles are really tense hit them quite sharply with a round stick in fact hit the muscles really hard you need to bruise them I know it sounds contradictory it is a kind of prolotherapy, [ look that up } by getting the blood to flow through bruising this allows the body to remove the poisons that build up and form minute crystals in muscle fibre. After three days the muscles relax good luck you have my sympathy I deal with similar problems andthe above helps.

First always get a Doctor's opinion. A real one. You can call yours on their service if it persists for accurate advise. Left arm & and blockage of blood flow is no good to fool with. Lay low on the postings again :) Keep Bayer aspirin around in case of any heart attack symptoms. Sweating, rapid pulse, dizzyness? Please do take care. Can not bear losing another one. I am a Certified Nurse Aide. No nurse. Rest and get professional advise in the morning if it persists!! PLS!!

I had this too and I was pretty scared. It eventually went away, but took longer than I expected. It may be the beginning of carpal (sp?) or a pinched nerve (mine). I find that Aleve works pretty well for it.

Good luck with it, and you probably should see your Dr. again. Maybe he can recommend a neurologist.

Sounds like a pinched nerve in your neck...I have the same thing from time to time...from sleeping with my head in too oblique a position. See your doctor though to be safe and ask about an MRI...Good luck.

Get an x-ray, could be a bone spur. Also see a chiropractor, you'd be suprised what a pop in the right place can do for you.

might be carpel tunnel...simple tests can be done...do you sleep with your hands balled up like fists and curled in? That would impede the nerves further.

could be related to carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel (the "funny bone" in your elbow) syndrome, or a pinched nerve in your spine where the nerves for your hand exit.
