Any success with this? I really don't want to be on medication for the rest of my life and would like to treat this naturally.
Thanks =)

I also take 5 HTP for depression and it has worked very well without unwanted side effects that I previously experienced with prescription anti-depressants. I have also tried St. Johns Wort for over a year and didn't get very good results with it either. I have been taking 50 mg of 5 HTP every other day for over a year now and will definately stick with it over anything else. I also would recommend a good exercise program, a good quality multi-vitamin/mineral supplement , along with Omega 3's.

I occasionally take tyrosine also. Helps when I am feeling depressed with little to no energy.

All the best to you! I know all too well how depression makes life more complicated than it should be.

Take care!

Hi Sweetie, you don't say what it is you want to treat.

I use all natural products to treat Rheumatoid Arthritis and have great success.

I started out taking a daily supplement and had such good success that I decided to improve all areas of my lifestyle to ensure that this improved health would be life long.

So I've improved my diet, do meditation, use an infrared sauna to help detoxify the body, and try to follow all Pillars of Health.

I share with others my experiences at http://www.LivingWithRheumatoidArthritis.com/Health.html

I have been using 5HTP for a few years for depression. Works really well, I'd say it gives me a very solid 30% mood boost, really perks up the lows - IF I get the "enteric-coated" tablets. Regular capsules do not work for me.
