I would recommend using pagemaker verses word. Pagemaker is an adobe product and would work better. www.stocklayouts.com has a lot of business card/letterhead templates in different programs including pagemaker. Some of the templates are free and other are reasonably priced ($40 range.)

You can make decent business cards with either PageMaker or Word, although pagemaker will be MUCH better because of its layout tools.

If you business card is rather simple there are a number of easy tools available. You can try this page which will create a business card and give you a PDF file that you can then take to Kinkos or use yourself with pre-scored business cards available at any office supply store:

There are also always a number of modestly priced business-card design programs available at any software store or on-line. Just type "business card maker" in Yahoo or Google.

Pagemaker gives you much more freedom of placement of the various elements of your card, including graphics. It was designed for just such purposes.

There are a number of free software packages that will work much better then Word or Page Maker.

Word and Page Maker are more for page layout. It is usually best to use an image editor for creating things like logos and business cards.

You can find a number of free image editors that will suit your purposes well here:

I recommend selecting Paint.NET
