No shadows. With whites, and colors you see the person's fat rolls and lumps under the clothing.

black isn't actually slimming on all people. it is more of an illusion really. you can do it with all black, brown, navy. any sort of monochromatic color scheme slims.

i actually saw on TLC What Not To Wear show where a women wore lots of black because she thought it was slimming. Stacy and Clinton actually had her try on brown, and she looked much better. I find that blondes and redheads have a harder time with black because it is such a harsh look.

Anything that creates a long visual line (your eye isn't "interrupted" when looking from the shoulders to the feet) tends to be slimming. Usually, people think of black, but really any monochromatic outfit will have a similar effect.

Black is pretty much my favorite color to wear. I'm really skinny, and it just makes you look toned and even slimmer :)

It doesn't allow you to see the "creases" or bulges in your body so you appear smooth or "slim"
