Ok, I had my first two children very young, and since I had a boy and a girl I decided not to have any others, when my youngest was two I met a wonderful man who would eventually become my husband. We now have a little one on the way, and I have lots of people asking me about doing a baby shower. I thought you only got one, for your first child. I know we got rid of all the baby things, and everyone wants to get this child something, but isn't it bad ettiquette to have a second shower?? How many of you had more than one shower? And if a friend invited you to a baby shower after they had already had one with a previous pregnancy would you think they were being greedy???

Your friends and family are happy for you. This is a great thing, Say thank you and enjoy your shower. This is your baby's first shower after all.
It's not bad manners.
You be sure to write the thank you cards and send them out quickly, you won't have time after the new baby comes!!
Happy new Baby and congratulations.

The idea of only having one shower is pretty antiquated. In the old days, this was standard, as all baby stuff was expected to be reused...cloth diapers, and baby clothes were pretty unisex. These days a shower is a chance to celebrate the new baby, and people like to get something special just for that little guy (or girl). So long as the party is hosted by someone else with you as a guest of honor, it doesn't appear to be greedy at all, and after all this time no one except the very old-fashionedish ladies would think it tacky.

Because it has been so long since your last child, I don't see anything wrong with having a baby shower. Most people only have a shower with their first child because their kids are only a couple years apart and they still have things that the new baby can use. I think it depends on the circumstances, so I say go for it.

Please let someone throw you a shower. things are different now. I know that it used to be excepted that you only got one shower, but after 8 years I am sure everyone wants to celebrate this joyous occasion. Not to mention this is your first child with your husband and I am sure his family would like to celebrate this birth.
I had my kids 15 months apart and my best friend still gave me a small get together for my second child. She said it was a girl so she needed cute stuff and she wanted my daughter to be able to look back later at pictures of her baby shower.
So sit back and enjoy!

My daughter is 8 so we got rid of everything as well. My mom still put on a baby shower for this little one. Not just because of the age difference, but because a baby shower is a celebration of your baby. If you feel uncomfortable having another one, have it after your little one is born and make it a meet baby party.
Good luck.

Well, people do usually just have a baby shower for the first baby, but if your friends want to have one for you then why not. I would not have one for yourself though; that would be considered kind of tacky.

Did your different little ones get showers? in the event that they did no longer, then i'm able to understand your upset because of the fact none of them have been given a shower. yet while they have, i think of that's a sprint egocentric so you might assume a third one.

Go for it. After 8 years you need new stuff. Nothing wrong with it. I've seen it done many times.
