Sled riding. I was sledding in a cemetery which had a lot of hills in it. As the group all decided to leave, I took one last run in a direction that no one had gone yet. Well, the hill was much steeper than I anticipated, & it had a drop-off near the top. I went "weightless" when I encountered the drop-off, & the sled nearly came out from under me. I finished the run side-ways across the sled, & rolled off at the bottom, because there was a busy road on the other side of the ditch at the bottom. I was watching traffic go by, while snow melted down my neck, & maniacal laughter was coming from the top of the hill.

Sled Riding- no question.
In college we had this giant hill (at Miami of Ohio). After the bars would close, we'd get the tray's from the cafeteria and go sledding. We also had one of those blue plastic swimming pools. We'd get a bunch of people in the pool and then go flying down the hill.
It was more fun because we were all a little on the drunk side. We'd stay out all night then go out to breakfast the next morning. Then sleep through classes...
I did graduate in 4 years!)

I like sled riding better.
I only went ice skating twice, but I roller skate much better.
I remember going down a huge hill in a local park and having the toboggan get into the sled riding groove....like going down a flight of stairs. Since the toboggan had no pad it hurt like hell so I just let myself fall off the back end.

Ice skating.
I skated competitively from the time I was 6 until I was 18. Then decided that skating in the capades wasn't a fruitful career and went to college.
I used to skate in Northern CA at the rink that Charles Shultz (Who created Snoopy/Peanuts...) owned and have many fond memories of hanging out there. One day I was doing my homework in the coffee shop before practice and he came over and sketched a snoopy in my notebook :o)

Being from So.Texas I have none of your precious memories.
I have watched it on TV and looks like so much fun. My body could not stand the cold & soon as I got on all those clothes, I'd most likely be needing to take a hike someplace. Enjoy !!

To tell you the truth, even as a child I didn't like the cold weather so I never enjoyed either, even though sled riding looked to be so much fun.
What about yourself?

Sled Riding is so much fun! I remember when I was a kid we had a huge blizzard and didn't have school for three weeks! That winter was such a blast!

thats really a toughie.
i love ice skating, but i think sled riding is more fun because your feet dont get really sore!! today i ice skated and my feet are killing me. :PP
and sledding is softer; because when you fall, you land on snow not hard ice.
