The condensation pan is usually right under the coil which is supposed to move the water to a hole to drain. Very likely yours is stopped up and depending on how accessible may be rough to unstop.

If you can locate the pan but difficult to remove try using a turkey baster and using about 90% CClorox and 10% water squirt the solution in the pan and watch to see if anything happenes in about 30 min. If you see nothing has happened the drain is stopped up and may need a pipe snake to unstop. But sometimes the clorox will break the crud loose.

It sounds like the condensate pan is not draining completely. After running the air conditioner for about an hour, shut the unit down, remove the access panel & check for standing water. If so, the drain is blocked. Try to pour bleach directly into the drain area; if water is still standing, use a plumbing snake. If neither works, you may have to call a plumber. And you may have to replace the filter instead of just cleaning.

The condensate pan drain may be clogged and as a result water is ''standing'' in the pan.
