No. New York is prone to Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Heat/Cold waves, Blizzards, Floods & Earthquakes.

California is prone to frequent earthquakes, floods and Heat/Cold waves.

All cities are prone to at least one natural disaster.

CA is prone earthquakes and drought. Just a few weeks ago SoCal had that huge wildfire which was brought on by that seemingly endless drought that's been occuring for years.

Eastern NY is prone to getting at least one or two 'Noreasters every winter. Western NY get A LOT of lake effect snow during the fall and winter. It also rains often with occasional flooding. Severe t-storms are really only limited to late spring and summer. Tornados rarely occur and when they do they never get above F2 category.

There is no place that is safe from natural disasters.

Some places are at higher risks of earthquakes, tidal waves, hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards, droughts, forest fires, etc. etc. Some places more at risk of one, less of risk of another.

The larger cities are at higher risks of man made disasters, but rescue workers also get there faster.

The best way to be safe is to get a good paying job so you can live in a part of town that is low crime, are able to use decent transportation.

There is nowhere that is safe from natural disasters. The best you can do is be prepared. New York, however is safer though, since youd mainly deal with blizzards and possibly flooding.

THERE ARE DISASTERS IN EVERY CITY. BOTH CITIES HAVEN'T HAD A GOOD DISASTER IN A WHILE. CALIFORNIA CAN GET WILDFIRES AND EARTHQUAKES. NYC CAN GET HURRICANES. THERE ARE NO SAFE PLACES, BUT LA AND NYC ARE GREAT CITES.
NYC HAS HOT SUMMERS AND COOL WINTERS.
LA HAS WARM SUMMERS AND WARM TO COOL WINTERS.
BOTH ARE THE BEST CITIES IN THEIR STATE FOR ACTING OR FILMAKING SO PICK WHAT YOU THINK IS THE BEST, AND DONT WORRY TOO MUCH ABOUT WEATHER DIASTERS.

Nope. Both cities are on the coast on opposite oceans which are susceptible to Tsunami's, Tropical depressions + Earthquakes which btw sits on the San Andreas fault line all across the US. It zig-zags so keep up with what you hear on the Weather channel. Its important stuff.

California has earthquakes and fires. NY has tornado's and blizzards. There is no safe place, anywhere. But its all really on how well you prepare to live in any area. I'm prepared for blizzards, hurricanes, natural fires, and shortage of booze.

organic mess united statesare something that the earth can't administration, notwithstanding it comes certainly. in my view, i imagine that a twister or an asteroid hitting is shockingly staggering. I dont imagine any disaster has been shown as "the scariest," it in basic terms relies upon on opinion.
