yes gnomie report it, its better to be safe then sorry. while it is a parents responsibility to protect their own child, it doesn't mean that all parents are responsible. and as a society if we can't help protect all children, then what good are we?

Children should be monitored using the net. Parents should determine what their children see, not others. If you feel the word it is wrong for children then report it to Y answers. I don't know that it will do any good, I reported to them the person who wanted to commit suicide and got no response. I am very glad I posted the National Hotline for this person. So do what your conscious leads you to do.

You mean on here? If you think it violates the Terms of Service, go ahead. Yahoo! is allowed to regulate the content of this site. Flag it if you want to and include a short note as to why. If Yahoo! finds that it is in violation, they'll remove it. If not, no harm done.

"Inappropriate" words are defined by Yahoo Answers. They are automatically censored out.
Maybe you think one is inappropriate, but one person's inappropriate is another's clever.
You can lobby that Y/A censor that word as well.
Personally, I think it is up to parents to protect their children from the big-bad-Internet, *NOT* you.
Certainly, any parent who allows their kids to access this site must know that there is a high probability that the kids will be exposed to things that they hadn't considered. Consider that there are lots of questions about sex, marriage/divorce, perversion, etc.
Sitting from your keyboard typing at home, you cannot protect those who use this site.

No children under 15 arent supposed to be on here. If they are older than that theyve prolly heard it all already. Over protecting kids will only set them up for failure in the long run. You arent going to be able to get rid of the mean, foul mouthed boss. . . and reporting is petty anyway. Freedom of speech? Plus, all it will do is send a little email, and all they have to do is click "delete".

Leading a sheltered life is not wise. If inappropriate language is the worst the child is ever exposed to---it must be a golden child.

Who determines if a word is innopropriate. I'm sure the have already herd it in today's society. If they have turned on tv and watched something other than Disney or Nickelodeon then sure they have heard it.

No. I think the person who lets their child in a place where the child could be exposed to an inappropriate word is wrong.

I try to live in a world in which it is a child's parents' responsibility to raise him, not the internet's.
