they were "going to drop the kids off at the pool" when they had to ..uh, you know, .....go to the bathroom.

My daughter (who is 29) has been giving me crap about this (so to speak!) because I never heard that one before.

One day I am shopping with my 4 year old Granddaughter and she says "Grandma, I got to drop the kids off at the pool."

I said "What kids? What pool?" I was clearly puzzled.

She goes "Grandma!!!! I have to go potty!"
I said "So what does that have to do with kids going to a pool?"

and then....I got it....

I'm with you. I never heard that expression, or any other the others that answered you question. I must live in the dark ages. And just when I thought I was a really hip grandma. (58)

The first time I heard that was on the MTV show "Newly weds" with Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson. She had to "got drop the kids off at the pool" and I couldn't believe I heard her talk like that. I laughed my butt off!!

Hey, at least you got it!!

When we moved to NH, we had a hard time understanding the N.E. accent, especially Bostonians, because of the way they pronounce the letter "R" .

They'll say "My sista Linder" for "My sister Linda."

While watching a bowling program, the announcer interviewed one of the participants and asked what she did for a hobby. She said,

"I go to pottys (parties) and play cods (cards)."

I looked at my wife and said,

"What did she say? She likes to sit on the toilet and play with FISH???"
