I accidentally took the USB out of my computer when my iPOD said "Do not disconnect" and the iPOD screen froze. What do I do? Do I need to take it to the Apple store, or is this something I can fix on my own?

Try this, it always worked for me. Hold the middle round button down and the menu (top) button down at the same time for about 30 seconds. It always reset mine. Good luck :)

1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)

2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.

If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.

Simply hold down the menu and center buttons until the screen goes black and the iPod will reset itself. If it's as frozen as you say it is then you may have to hold the buttons down for a good minute or so.

Just hold down the middle and play button at the same time. The screen will go black but you'll see a little apple. It's just reastarting. That's usually all it takes. :-)

the same thing happened to me a while ago
if i remember correctly, you can either toggle the hold switch back and forth--i think while it was plugged into the wall...
or hold down the center button and menu part together for a couple seconds

good luck

Go to the itunes website. then, click on the section, support. Type it into the search box but it should be there, cuz alot of people get their ipods freezed.

If Ipods have removable batteries [my sister has one... and i dont remember] take them out and let them cool off and take it to the apple store to see if it has softwear problems, because it just might. If it doesnt have batteries, let it alone for a while and then try shutting it off.
I hope this helps!

Good luck!

Hi, you should wait until the battery runs out, that works for me. If it doesn´t help you you should go to the Apple store.
I hope you can resolve the problem.

All you have to do is hold the center button and the menu button at the same time until it is unfrozen.
