Does anyone have directions for making a yarn, lifesaver person?

I once had a yarn person with a roll of lifesavers as the body. Does anyone know how to make them? If so, please help me to remember.

Here is a really skimpy one, but if you use more yarn, it will look like the old fashioned funny ones.
