I think it's great that Al Gore has been able to show the world the dangers of Global Warming but other than shutting down 50% of the world economy for the next 25 years there is no way to stop it from happening & since that would send billions of people into poverty, that just isn't going to happen.

Human technology started global warming and human technology is going to have to stop it whether you like it or not.

It's way to late. As long as people continue to
drive their cars, fly their planes, smoke and
spray every kind of canned something into
the air. Global Warming will only get worse.

As usual, action will be taken "after" the
damage is done.

No, human technology did NOT start global warming, sorry. What a misconception!

It's well known that our planet cycles through warming and cooling down periods, going through ice ages and tropical periods. Natural phenomena like volcanos, forest fires, and dust storms put up screens which keep the sun from warming the earth and have done so for as long as the earth has been around. And all those things are still happening, completely without human involvement.

To blame global warming solely on human technology shows ignorance and an inability to look at scientific data without politically correct policy makers putting a spin on things for you.
YES, human technology is playing a part in *accelerating * global warming. We could slow down the economy, ban the internal combustion engine, keep people from having any more children so the population decreases, and eat one meal a day. We could kill all the methane-producing termites and cows. We could make all sorts of carbon-sharing laws which penalize countries who are trying to help the global warming situation while allowing developing countries free reign to continue dumping C02 into the air.

The only thing we can do as individuals is be more aware of how big a "footprint" we leave, and be good stewards on our own part.

Global warming would exist even if humans never had. There is nothing technologically or otherwise we can do about it. The main cause of global warming is the sun. Al Gore hasn't "shown the world" anything it hasn't seen before. He's a blathering con man and if you buy his brand of B.S. you're nothing more than another mark.

School children in England must now, by court order, be told that Al Gores movie contains 11 major falsehoods about global warming before they are allowed to see the movie in class. What algore needed to do was prove that the earths climate has, is , and always will be in flux. But that wouldn't have made him a muti-millionaire now would it?
What Gores' trying to do is more or less form a new religion based on false science, political gain, and the transfer of wealth. Pure socialism. You can be scared now.

Bad news for ya. Human technology did not start global warming. Nope. Not a chance. Fact. 300,000 years ago, the globe warmed by 11 degrees Farenheit. And not a engine, hair dryer or power plant around then. That is when the dinosaurs vanished. Conversely, back in the 1800's, the overall temperature DROPPED 4 degrees. Krakatoa caused that. You see, the earth and its environs NATURALLY warms and cools. Not a thing we can do about that. You need more proof? Read the REAL science, not that crap that Al Gore and the media puts out. That is nothing more than pure bovine excrement. And, sadly, people assume this to be fact.

Our world must be more realistic about the chances of preventing climate change and prepare for the inevitability of global warming.

Politicians and environmentalists have failed to understand how difficult it will be to curb global warming and are overlooking the importance of adapting to the hotter world it will bring.

While measures to cut the greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming are essential, they have been emphasised over and above the equally vital need to develop ways of coping with climate change

Start by giving up beef. Check it out! It is wrong to build cattle herds to the point we have!

Decisions must be taken now to strengthen sea walls or manage the inundation of vulnerable stretches of land. We need more costal defenses. New Orlenes was just a taste of what may happen!!!

Flood plains Building on flood plains should be restricted or banned, to reduce the risk of catastrophic flooding amid more extreme weather and higher sea levels

Building regulations More insulation would save energy in winter, keep buildings cooler in summer.

More covered public spaces would provide shade and shelter from storms

New crops Drought and heat-tolerant strains of crops will be needed for a warmer world

Wildlife corridors Conservation areas from north to south would allow species to migrate when present habitats become too hot.

do you actually believe human technology started global warming...what cause the global warming before man had technologies...i think to blame mankind for something we know so little about, the earth, is beyond ignorant and irresponsible...humans haven't been recording the earth long enough to understand if this is man made or just a natural cycle...from the end of WW2 until the middle of the 1970's the earth was is a cooling stage...that during the industrial boom after WW2...but the earth was cooling...how can that be...

Global warming is a huge myth. The US has very strict pollution controls compared to 30 years ago. We have not been keeping track of weather for very long so how do we know what is normal? Al Gore is gay!

Relax. Global warming will go the way of the AMC Pacer. It's just the latest disaster scenario from the media and scaremongers that always turn out to be wrong.

But even if it's true, I'm not convinced it's a bad thing. The earth has been warmer in the past than it is now. Somehow humans survived and even thrived.

for some years, environmentalism has been the Left's maximum suitable excuse for increasing government administration over our strikes in approaches the two great and small. it is for mom Earth! it is for the youngsters! it is for the whales! yet before, the doomsday-difficulty environmental scares they have trumped up have not been sufficiently enormous to furnish the sinister prize they prefer maximum of all: total administration of yankee politics, financial interest, or perhaps individual habit. With worldwide warming, although, greenhouse gasbags can argue that automobile emissions in Ohio threaten human beings in Paris, and that for the time of basic terms worldwide government can handle such issues. national sovereignty? Democracy? forget approximately it: worldwide warming has now added the Left nearer to worldwide government, statism, and the eradication of individual rights than it has ever been in the previous.
