To factor this, we are looking for two numbers whose sum adds up to to 10 and whose factor adds up to 24. In this case, we can factor x^2+10x+24 to (x+6)(x+4), 6+4=10 and 6x4=24
If we solve for x, we get x=-6 and -4

x^2 + 10x + 24

=>x^2 + 6x + 4x + 24

=>x(x + 6) + 4(x + 6)

=>(x + 6)(x + 4)

= x^2 + 10x + 24
= (x + 4)(x + 6)

Answer: x = - 4, - 6
