Dem's are about words and feelings, not about deeds and results. I would also say that if a Dem drives any vehicle that burns fossil fuel and says that they care about global warming, while sitting in their coal fired/ electrical generating energy using house is a liar.

Three trends going on here. Number One: Obesity in America with our fast food lifestyle creates need for bigger vehicles to accomodate our expanding waist lines. Number Two: Aging population has tendancy to put on weight and remain less active so they resort to machines like SUVs and Power Chairs to move them around. Number Three: Our President sells out America for oil and gas interests because it suits his own investments. So Detroit isn't manufacturing smaller cars the way they did during the oil crisis in the '70s because the leader of our nation isn't serious about reducing our dependancy on oil. He WANTS dependancy because that increases demand for the product he is invested in.
We could create so many better, fuel-efficient vehicles in very short order. The problem is that most politicians know they have 2 or 4 or 6 years in office so they focus on the short term re-election process and know they don't have to really tighten their own belt as long as they are in control of the dollars and decisions to run the country. They USE us...the American people...and it isn't isolated to one party or the other. It's all about feathering THEIR nest and creating the illusion they work for us when in truth, its all about their getting re-elected but not having to live in the pits that so many of their constituents have to deal with daily.

Nah. My sister is a big liberal. She believes whole hog in global warming and brings it up every now and then at family gatherings. She drives a Prius. Before that, a 4 cylinder Camry.

If they live in your neighborhood, and you're friends with them, then you should set them straight. Personally, I don't believe you, because you don't seem the type to make friends with a Dem.
