3. You have a laser with wavelength = 635.3[nm]. The grating has a slit spacing of 1.633E-03[mm]. What is the angle measured for n=1?
angle = _____________________[radian]
Use three sig. figs.; or use N/A, if not enough information is given.

please help and explain this ,thanks

Take a look at the diagram on http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/phyopt/gratcal.html

(FYI, this is a gold mine for you to get an understanding on physics/optics)

d sin θ = m * λ

From your problem, you know

d = 1.633E-3mm = 1.633E -6m
m = n = 1
λ = 635.3nm = 635 E -9m

Solve for sin θ
sin θ = mλ/d
= 1 (635E-9)/(1.633E-6)
= 0.3888

Therefore, θ = 22.9

Hope this helps!
