Q Tips. Paul Young was in this band once.
I know someone who went to nightclub, went upstairs and saw a group playing, did not think much of them, and went back downstairs again. He asked the bartender who the group was. The reply was "Pink Floyd". "Who the hell are they?" was the reply to that.

haha i am so glad i found someone who feels the same way! i could seriously go on for hours about this kind of thing. i'm not sure if its exactly what you were getting at but i feel this way mostly about people like Kesha and Katy Perry. I mean come one, they clearly can't sing without the help of autotune, they don't play any instruments and even if they do they don't show us, they don't write their own music and most of their song lyrics are like a 2 on a scale of 1 to "Friday". If their songs didn't have a catchy beat they'd be broke. So what bothers me is that me, the smalltown girl, has more musical talent than them other than the fact that they're actually famous. So they're pretty much just a pretty face and we all know that sex sells... sorry i like wrote a book but i could really go on for hours...haha well i hoped i helped kinda? lol :]

I saw Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble play at a Halloween party in an off-campus UT dorm in Austin. They showed up in costume as the Jimi Hendrix Experience.

I was wondering around London years ago and heard a band busking called the Gutter Brothers. I know it's a daft name, but they were amazing and had a kind of skiffle/jazz/punk/rock n roll fusion sound. Anyway I loved it, bought a tape, saw 'em in a couple of other places. Then they turned up on telly doing the music for a tv drama called "Gone to the Dogs". Ok, so they were semi-famous for 5 minutes, but I think it still counts, doesn't it?

If you want to know a very good vocal coach try to visit https://tr.im/KkFOP an online vocal coaching tutorial. Everything, ranging from breathing fundamentals, vocalizing exercises, techniques on singing high and low notes, how to not go off-key/out of tune/off-sync, musicianship and music theory, proper diction and articulation, and a lot more are covered, all in our native language. It can be quite technical in nature, but it really helps since it covers the musical aspect of singing deeply and not just concentrates on how to impress people with your vocal range, riffs and runs and other cliches that do not necessarily make one a complete vocalist.

I was working on the Razorlight street team and got to see them before they were famous. I'm glad I didn't put much effort in; I hate Razorlight!!!
My ex's band also supported Pulp waaay back in the day! And my other friend's band supported Muse (the gig was on the back of a flat-bed truck in a little village. Muse walked off)
