click on their nick name and click on add as a friend or a fan. so u could keep track of them, what questions they ask, what answer they give, etc

I added someone to my profile because I had a rapport with her on answers. Turns out we came from the same town, although neither of us live there anymore, we have a lot in common and are now, regularly in touch via e-mail.
It's like a pen pal so I suppose it is now a cyber pal!

I'm not sure. It only confused me when I tried adding a contact. So now all my contacts are just added to my own personal favorites, not on YA. As for the fans, it's nice to get those isn't it?

If you like the questions of a particular person, you add them to your contacts and you will be alerted when they ask a question. I find it very helpful.

I add contacts/fans because I like their questions and answers. I like to know where they are so I can answer them. Has nothing to do with being nosy.

Just click on their avatar -- makes it easier to comunicate if desired (it is a two way thing though -- if you add someone, they have access to your info)

I think it is good to have fans, but you have to watch out because they might be trolls in disguise, or worse still reporters. ha ha ha.
