THREE LITTLE FISHES (Fwee Widdo Fiddies)

Down in the meadow in a little bitty pool,
Swam three little fishies and the mama fishy, too.
"Swim!" said the mama fishy, "Swim if you can!"
And they swam and they swam right over the dam.

cho: Boop boop dittum dattum wattum, shoo
Boop boop dittum dattum wattum, shoo
Boop boop dittum dattum wattum, shoo
And they swam and they swam all over the dam.

"Stop!" said the mama fishy, "You'll get lost!"
But the three little fishies didn't want to be bossed,
So the three little fishies went out on a spree
And they swam and they swam right out to the sea.

chorus

"Whee!" said the little fishies, "This is fun!
Let's swim and swim 'til the day is done1"
So they swam and they swam, and it was a lark.
Then, all of a sudden, they saw a shark.

chorus

"Help!"cried the little fishies, "Look at all the whales!"
And the three little fishies, they turned onR their tails.
And back to the pool in the meadow

He did something special during World War Two which never got a lot of publicity. There was a Naval Hospital in Oakland, California. At the time they were slowly evolving into one of the major treatment centers for amputees in the military health care system. To help those patients and others recover from their injuries, it was felt that a heated, indoor swimming pool could serve as an important tool. So, Kay dug into his pockets and bank account and came up with the money for that pool.
It was still being used in the late 1970s and early 1980s when I served as assistant administrator of that hospital.

Little before my time Daisymae, but I did work at a mail order company that sold all the old radio shows on records and tapes. So I was fortunate enough to hear Kay Keyser's Kollege of Musical Knowledge. Boy I really enjoyed those old radio shows!

I remember these because my father was such a great pianist and he played these. In his very younger years, he actually did play in an old time band. This is what gave me my love of those oldies. Growing up with them.

My mum used to sing me that when I was little . Also Marea eat oats and does eat oats and little lambs eat ivey, a kid'll eat ivey too, wouldn't you.

I think Mike Douglas, the late talk show host was the singer in Kay Keyser's band if I'm not mistaken.

Was Ish Kabibble part of his band? Or maybe it was Spike Jones band. We sang that song when we were very young. The good old days when nonsense was fun.

I know the music and I love big band music, but am too young to have participated in the era...so I just had to learn swing and all in classes! Those that had it during 'their time'...you lucky dogs!
