Its true. Its been pounded into people by so many years of racism and discrimination. Doesnt mean blacks cant object to outside racism, thats ridiculous, assuming that they all have this in them is a stereotype, we are all different. Stop thinking of tthem as a race, like just because they have the same color skin they belong to some club and have all the same views. You dont do that to people who share the same color eyes do you? Well its the same thing. STFU
Were all the same race anyways.

I think there is beauty in all the different shades of African American people!
As the article said, and as a light skinned woman. I feel like the men of color in the old movies. That wore white gloves to serve dinner. My light skin is acceptable to most because it would be like I had gloves on ,over my dark skin.
So, does it make me feel better, No!
I've gotten all kinds of comments.A light skinned date told me,by wearing makeup.I was pretending to be white.I dated a white man who asked me to straighten my hair so I would look more like an Indian, instead of a black woman.I've had dark skinned men told me they were upset I had dated a white man.Because in slavery days ,white men could have their way with me.And I was probably a product of one of my ancestors being raped and having a child.
It's all just a reason to dismiss the heart, soul, mind, and spirit of a person!

totally true. If you read your history, the racism amongst black people dates back to the Civil War, or even before. Lighter colored African Americans were given more privileges earlier than the darker skinned after the Civil War.

As an African American individual I agree that we could constantly all stop and think of in the previous screaming racism. although, while speaking approximately fixing it, it is not that easy. i'm of the opinion that intra-racial disparity began for the time of a time while our human beings have been nevertheless slaves. It became meant to divide us as a human beings-which has been accomplished. i'm no longer asserting that we've no accountability interior the problem. i'm in basic terms making the element that all of it all started centuries in the past and could take many extra centuries to maximum suitable (if ever). by applying the way, i'm a mild-skinned individual who has constantly believed in treating my dark-skinned sisters and brothers with admire.

Well I'm white and I'm totally prejudiced against Europeans. I mean gees... they're soooo stupid.
*I hope you caught the sarcasm*
Racism is a learned thing. Any kind of prejudice is learned whether it's blondes vs brunettes vs red heads etc. I agree that it's ridiculous. It's a poor use of the psychological process called generalization.
My main complaint is the proliferate use of the N word. It makes me sick. People DIED so that no one had to be called that demeaning term.
I mean I dont go around saying "My honky" and "My cracker"... hm... maybe I should and get mad when dark skinned people say it.

Racism at anytime & any form is bad. And always needs to be spoken against no matter where or who it is coming from. I love people of all colors, that's how I was raised. Some just overthink things too much. We are all people. And I absolutely love someone who looks different from me, variety baby!!

Who cares what color your skin is? Whether it's a shade lighter, darker or completly different color. Racism is built and fueled by closed minded individuals with low self esteems. People are people.. we all have souls, brains, and hearts.. whether or not we choose to use those instruments is not based on the color of our skin.

You know what? It's just a down, right, prejudice world we live in. So we should just suck-it-up and get used to it.
Why tip-toe around the subject. If it weren't for color or religion, we'd find another reason to hate one another.

well, if everyone thinks about it this has been going on since the slavery days. when the "darker coloreds " were left outside to pick the fields, and the "lighter coloreds" were bought to the "main house" to be servants.
