ASL is a language just like English is a language. It has rules about the order of words and the tenses of words. Baby sign language are signs that are used generally in isolation or with a few other words.

i was gonna say what the " cookie" guy said. he hit the nail on the head. It isolates words versus groups of words and u teach the simple, small stuff first.
