There was a time when I had low self esteem, primarily from being stout, withdrawn and somewhat stubborn. The Service changed all that. Basic training reduced me from 225 to 175, trim, strong physically and mentally. Found that I could match most everyone in intellect, stamina , Acquired a different view of life. After discharge attended college which I thought would be difficult . Found it easy. In service developed a work ethic which continues today at 84.
