I feel that our recent elections have left us in this position, now it appears we vote for a leader, not a goverment or a local member, How like the Americans we are becoming. I, for one, do not wish to lose my Aussie identity or the individuality that brought our traditional 'natipnal identity' into being. Maybe both John and Kevin should concentrate on what is good for Australia before jumping on the 'Save the World' train. Our Government's first obligation is to the welfare of all Australians and until we resolve the situation between the original occupants who had their land stolen, even under the law that the 'Discoverers' were bound by, and the Government, until no Aussie citizen is living in poverty, until we clean up our own backyard. We're in no position to fix other people's problems. Disaster and famine aid, no problem to me but armed intervention in other people's problems; High costs, no return to the nation. Not even genuine kudo's.

We need to get back to our fair go for everyone country as opposed to everyman for himself.

No not really, John Howard is the one accused of being American like but, Rudd is the one who started the popularity vote campaign. He is belittling the Australian people by trying to hoodwink them into believing the "candy covered" ideas he is bringing to the table. These ideas are sugar coated as they don't reveal the truth laying underneath. Come on Australia wake up and see through this crap Rudd is handing out! John Howard has done nothing but try to highlight what he is planning for Australia's future and all Rudd can say is "Me too!"! He's saying I'm better looking and I'm the nicest guy running but no substance. We need the truth and "Dr Death", as he was nicknamed in Qld during the Goss Era, is attempting to kill off the Australian way of life and this we can't allow!!

Your right....you have John Howard as Jesse James. The only difference is one was American and the other wants to be American

Rudd...is Ned Kelly. Australian born and bread and proud of it, fighting for the little guy against a corrupt system that use lies and deciet to get an outcome!

Actually your choice of analogies is rather good when you get down to it!

Yep, looks so. Ju-LIAR will could have one tailor made for her to guard her from each and every of the bullets which would be directed at her after her carbon tax comes into being.
