My baby boy has just started to dislike socks! anyone else experience this when their baby was 4 months old?
it's actually cute, because he'll take his sock off ... and then hold that foot up in the air, like, "look mom! I took my sock off!" .. it's cute, but it's gonna start getting a little colder and I want his little feet covered .. anyone else experience this with their baby?
he does the same thing with his shoes! we were at the check-out at the grocery store the other day and he was just hanging out in the stroller .. holding his shoe :)
My husband even bought him socks with rattles! so he can play with the rattles while he's playing with his feet (he loves playing with his feet! :)
.. but he even takes those off! he just wants his feet bare!

any suggestions on keeping his socks on?
(oh! and I do buy the ones with elastic around the ankles, I never put him in socks that easily fall off.)

wow, 'do your own thinking' ..that's a little harsh, don't you think??
and for your 4-1-1 .. I DO breastfeed my son during the day, I only give him formula at night ... but I doubt he's taking his shoes off because he is 'protesting' the formula! he takes his shoes and socks off ALL DAY LONG, not just at night when I give him the formula!
besides, do you really think a 4 month old is intelligent enough to protest formula??
that would make him a child prodigy, wouldn't you think??

the only stocks I've had success with are made by trumpettes. you can google it. She can't get them off quite so easily and I've never had one fall off the way some do. I know they make them for boys as well and they sell on-line, I buy them at Bellini Baby, if you have one near you.

The top poster isn't the real user- it's ...guess who... allywally.illyana/crazy girl. Ignore her. She's clearly imploding and nobody around her cares. It's too sad to agitate her more, she could be a danger to the child or herself- it's hallmark behavior of a psychotic break.

I've had to start putting on these cute little slippers on my 3.5 month old as he hasn't figured out how to pull those off. He has just started pulling his socks off. It's a phase all babies go through. If we are going out I either put him in a bunting bag or hooded sleeper so he can't get at his socks, if he's not wearing his slippers. In the house, I keep it warm enough I am not worried about him being barefoot. Just annoying when I can't find the sock (s) he's pulled off!

Wait until he learns how to take his diaper off!!

LOL my 3 month old daughter does the same thing..well put socks on her and not even two seconds we turn our backs they are off of her little feet. i even have the rattle ones she hates them. I have lossed socks at stores due to this. She cries and cries if i put shoes on her..or ill but the socks on her feet under her sleepers she still manages to get them off.

Oh my son is 4 1/2 months old and he doesn't like to wear a coat! He hates being hot (he gets that from me AND his father) we get hot very easily. Everytime he's getting a diaper changed he's fine, but as SOON as you try to put his clothes back on him, he gets mad. Or if we're going out and we put his coat on him he's so mad! The sock thing is usually ok, but I recently bought him some soft shoes to keep his feet warmer now that it's winter and as soon as we try putting the shoes on, he's crying. So, I stopped trying.
I suggest if you're going out, try using those footed onsies. That way he can't take his "socks" off cause their attached to his outfit.

Oh yeah and the to first answer "Do your own thinking" that's not the real "Do your own thinking" answerer. It's an imposter and I've reported her. Apparently it's the same person who has the "Jorvice M, Alabaster, ect ect"...not sure who but a real pyscho loser. Plus a jealous mommy if you ask me...or one that has no time on her hands and obviously no care for her child. Don't worry about her!

I dont' like socks either, lol. Neither does my 7 year old. My four month old has a thing for feet too, lol. Today he was sucing his thumb. He doens't take his socks off on purpose though. we live in cananda and winter is coming so when we go out I wrap his feet in a blanket right after I put his socks on.

Congradulations on baby:)

How this takes me back. My granddaughter (now 2) took off shoes and/or socks constantly. It was especially bad when she was in her car seat. We would arrive at our destination and have to search the car for her footwear. She did outgrow it-short of wearing tights that's probably your only option. He does it because he can. it is a skill he has learned and he is proud. Doing it over and over reinforces it in his brain. You will note later on that whenever he learns something new he will do it almost obsessively-that is how they implant the skill in their brain. P.S. At 52 I still take off my shoes and/or socks the moment it becomes feasible. I guess some of us never outgrow it.

I have been looking for the socks with the rattles on them or at least I was when our baby was smaller. For all of ours, we had them in jammie-like things during the day when it was cold. My husband liked that because they were easy to dress and redress after a diaper change. Oops, he says they were one piece outfits. I stand corrected!

Illyana's mom- you have been reported. sigh- again.

I have yet to see anything from the original poster that is negative or nasty. What is wrong with you Illyana's mom? Are you truly that unhappy? You seem to have a vendetta against everyone on here who does not agree with you. I am not on much and I see it. It's crazy. Do you not understand that your pattern of behavior is crazy? Can you not see this? Please seek help immediately. It could be postpartum depression or psychosis.

You can try a pair of slippers. Robeez are okay, but a little pricey. You can find something similar for much less. Any store that sells baby stuff should have something.
Your other option is sleepers with "footies".

My kids were the same way. I think it's pretty normal. I would have to put their footed sleepers on to get them to keep them on, lol!

ETA: That first poster is/was a fake. She/he has made an account with the same pic and name as another member and is tryign to cause problems. If you noticed, they had only answered 2 questions, and the "real" member has answered way more than that.
