I am 31 weeks pregnant and me and my boyfriend were preparing our thanksgiving turkey when the baster squirted boiling water on my upper belly and burnt me. Will everything be okay? Am I just being paranoid? I had two shirts on, but I have a red mark on my stomach.

you are fine minus a little burn mark and the baby is perfectly fine. the baby is protected more than you can imagine and it probably couldn't even tell that anything happened!!! be sure to keep the burn clean and protected so you dont get an infection and you will be just fine!!!

and you are never paranoid when pregnant...you have every right to worry over every little thing...worried is better than not caring!

The only thing you have to worry about it yourself. It wont effect the baby, unless it was a 3rd degree and got incredibly infected, and then was left untreated and entered your blood stream. But you'd have to be lost in the mountains with only a flashlight for something like that to happen.

Chill out momma.

ouch sounds like something i would do. as far as the baby it wont hurt him/her at all, but for your belly id keep some cream on it to keep it from getting dry and stretchy and hurting, if its just red though and no broken skin youll be fine, just use a little neosporin for it. it will heal right up.

there are many layers of protection between your skin and your baby. You really don't have anything to worry about, still it is a good idea to put a first-aid cream and a band-aid on the red spot.
