I have 7 with no visible loss of picture quality. Booster and amplifier was a waste of money, didn't make any difference, in fact it made the reception worse. Make sure you buy gold plated, high quality splitters and coaxial cable "F" connectors.

Here are some of the probable issues you might be having. 1. The quality of the TV tuner card you are using is not a great. 2. The software that came with the card might be "time Shifting" by default and the compression settings might be producing the deteriorated display. One way to tell this is when you change the channel does the display change immediately or is there a 1 to several second delay before you see the channel change. 3. The level of the signal you are receiving at the PC is lower than expected. FCC spec states the minimum level going into the receiver (in your case, Tuner card) should be 0dBmv. if you have a lot of splitters or faulty/cheap splitters and connectors this could be your problem. Unfortunately, its tough determining the level if you do not have a signal level meter. So you can try to connect your TV to the same cable that was going into the PC and see how the quality looks. If the quality is good then check the specs for the minimum signal level for that card. or it could be a cheap/bad card. if the tv quality is bad then you have bad levels or bad connections/splits. hope this helps

Be sure to use high qualilty coaxial cable in making your runs from the splitters to the tv sets. The quad shield cable is a must. It is referred to as RG6. If you have any of the older thin type cable (RG86) it must be replaced with the quad shield type to get the best reception. You should be able to get 6 good feeds using this quality cable and by using quality connectors and splitters.

You should be able to connect at least 4 as long as you use a splitter; available at places like radio Shack or Home Depot.
