I heard from someone that the late Jimmy Stewart was nice (come outside of his home and greeted people on one of those Hollywood tours). Who else is nice in real life (based on your experience or the experience of someone you know)? Also, do you know of any who are remarkably rude?

I'm interested in all answers, but I meant for folks to answer based on chance meetings that they have had w/ a celeb at an airport, retail, autograph show, etc. I'm not expecting anyone to have celeb friends or anything like that. Thanks. :-)

My husband met Kathryn Morris from that show Cold Case. She just walked into Jack in the Box where he works. No one recognized her except my husband because we're big fans. She was really nice. She agreed to pose for a picture with my husband and thanked him for watching the show. I was sooooo jealous!
I met the Nascar and Indy car driver, Mario Andretti. He was very rude. I was a kid at the time and my sister and I were at the races with my dad. We were all excited to see him and asked for an autograph. He didn't want to sign anything unless we bought some of his merchandise. We were little kids! He was a jerk. I lost my respect for him then....

Among the absolute nicest and most "real" are Paula Deen and her husband Michael (she's on FoodNetwork) and Queen Latifah. (She walked into my friend's cousin's bagel shop in Jersey, and said to my friend, when introduced, "Hi. I'm Dana. Nice to meet you.") Kevin Bacon is also a regular dude. He works out at a gym near where my mom is a college professor, and he more or less just blends in.
I've had my share of run-ins with absolutely disgusting celebs who think who they are - and most of them are on their way DOWN - but I don't feel it's appropriate to kick someone when they're down.

my best friend met Michael Jackson and said that he was very nice. I also get the vibe that he is very nice from videos that I have watched and how he interacts with his fans. The people from Ebony magazine also said that when he did his recent interview with them, that he was thanking everyone around him from the interviewer to the doorman.
From personal experience, Al Roker(The Today Show) is very rude.

My husband met Michael J. Fox when he worked in a resort out west. Said he was a genuinely nice guy. Also, the guy that played Al on home improvement he said was really cool.

I met the lead singer from Dashboard Confessional. He is NOT nice. So rude.
My Chemical Romance are extremely nice. So sweet.
I met Tiffany Amber Thissen when I was 8. She called me sweetie. My mom has to tell that to EVERYONE!

Will Arnett (arrested development, blades of glory, on broadway) is one of the nicest most down to earth guys on the planet. He is really funny and very sweet. Met him on a few occasions, great guy.

He is no longer with us, but I have read and seen on news commentaries that Mr.Rogers was the same way off camera as on, and my kids and grand kids grew up with him!
Now for the senior citizens out there, do you remember a comedian Named Red Skelton, he was beloved on and off camera also!
