I've been a Caps fan since their inception, and even I have about run out of patience!

Should they fire one or both? Who should the replacement(s) be?

-if Peter Stastny's comments are anything to go by then Bondra will be out of a job soon. Stastny claims he was removed from the position because the powers that be didn't want to listen to him (They won a World Champioship with Stastny as GM), the powers that be are really set in their ways. Bondra is a little more freewheelin' than Peter...so unless major changes have been made at the top, or Bondra agrees to be a lackie....his time may not be long

As for firing Hanlon/McPhee, Hanlon needs to go.

It is McPhee's job to go out and get the pieces. McPhee went out and got Nylander and Kozlov, two proven NHLers to help out Ovechkin, Clark, and Semin. He signed a proven defenceman in Poti as well.

It is Hanlon's job to make the pieces work together. Hanlon has not shown that he can do that.

YESSS!!!!!! I am a love the caps and i make a point of never blaming the coach unless i really really think it's his fault and in this case i do. I've thought so ever since we lost our 11th shoot out last year and he was asked if they were working on shoot-outs of plan on working on shoot-outs in practice. His answer was a very matter of fact "no." the man is an idiot. GMGM wouldn't know a good trade or well used draft pick if it bit him on the azz. The man came EXTREMELY close to trading away the Ovechkin pick back in '03. Change needs to happen NOW.

They should first fire Hanlon and replace him with someone like Hunter or Langway. and at the end of the season say bye bye to GMGM and bring in Bondra. or the other way around with Hunter/Langway as GM and Bondra as coach. Something along those lines.

Didn't Bondra just take the job as the Slovak National team GM? He may be preparing himself for an NHL spot down the line, but he's not ready to step into that role quite yet.

I've always been a fan of McPhee, but I can see the arguments for his dismissal. Ultimately, I think the Caps have more issues with personnel than with game strategy, so the bullseye is more justly taped to the GM's back than the coach's.

Hanlon, not yet. GMGM-I am afraid so. Hanlon should at least have until mid or late season to try and turn things around. If he does get canned, no crap, I think that Pat Quinn should get the job. GMGM had so many years to get it done and NOTHING. I think him and JFJ should line up next to each other in the unemployment line.

Hanlon is way overdue for an exit. Somethings got to give. End of story.
