I like that a lot, it's just so Epicurean!

I think it's too simplistic. People both think and feel, and life is too complicated to be summed up in a glib word like "comedy" or "tragedy".

It also suggests life is a piece of theatre, and therefore not "real" and not worth worrying about. It devalues life.

I think life is a tragedy to those who are serious and a comedy to those who are not so serious. I know that's too obvious, but I think thought and feeling are so interwoven that you can't separate them in the way that you stated. Someone who demands perfection, whether as a thinker or someone who feels, will find life to be tragic, whereas someone who is not a perfectionist will be able to laugh at life.

At almost 70, I can tell you with full confidence; life is a blast.

It is what you make of it. Wanna make it a tragedy? It will be one. Comedy? It will be one.

What you know is that it is short. Better make it as sweet as you can and don't miss of minute of it by being miserable.
