For Coco Crisp.
And does anybody think the Red Sox will at least listen to offers on Lugo. I heard Jed Lowrie is really good and almost major league ready. Shortstop market it week this year so im guessing someone is gunna give the Sox a call about Lugo. Also, who will end up at 3rd base if we cant retain Lowell?

You have just said what everyone of my friends yell at me for saying. I think I'll end up giving you the best answer unless someone tops that because everyone thinks im and idiot and they are all just bandwagon Lowell fans. I hate it. They dont understand baseball and they think that lowell will put up those numbers every year for some reason. hes 34 and I guarantee he wont be anything in 4 years.

I think Red Sox will and should let Lowell go. He is clearly over the hill already and you wont see him hit in the World Series like that ever again.

Problem is 3B is tough to find good talent these days. You need both defense and bat there just to be on par with the Yankees (ahem AROD). I say Boston will go for Miguel Cabrera and let Lowell go. They got kids to fill other positions. They will keep Lugo there. Crisp is as good as gone.

Sounds like there isn't that great of a market for Lowell. He might have trouble getting four years elsewhere. I'm starting to think they'll work something out - 3 plus 1.

If not, they can consider trading Crisp for a third baseman. Or, they can move Youkilis to third and finding a first baseman -- that position usually is pretty easy to fill. Crisp can go for good prospects if a third baseman isn't needed. And there's no hurry. Four good outfielders isn't the worst way to start the season.

I don't think Lugo is that attractive for the moment. He still has a lot of contract left, and it's at a high rate. Probably a little too early to give up on him. Lowrie probably isn't ready to take over full-time anyway, so take 2008 and see what happens.

Miguel Cabrera has one year left on his contract and is getting way out of shape very quickly. He's just as much of a liability as signing lowell. If they don't sign lowell, they can just put cora at third. Boston isn't going to trade young pitching for a player who is making no effort to get in better shape and will be a 1st baseman in a year at the rate he's at. Pitching is what wins world series not good hitting third baseman who can no longer field. Do you really think the red sox should give up buckholtz, lester or delcarmen for a rent-a-third baseman? Not a chance.

Coco Crisp won't be dealt until Andruw Jones, Torii Hunter 7 Aaron Rowand all sign. Then they will know who will be more interested & that will give the Red Sox a little more flexibility in what they are asking for. As far as Lugo, I have no idea. You did win the WS with him this past year. I do think Mike Lowell will be back with the BoSox.

Well, from what I've been told, the best deals are the ones you don't make. If this team won the world series, then keep as many players as you can. The 2004 team was completely split up in 2005, and as a result the 2005 team lacked depth.

I would deal for David Eckstein(get rid of Lugo-what a waste!) Lowell should be resigned-he's 34,but still alot of good swings left in him at Fenway.(Imagine Lowell,Eckstein,Pedroia and Youkilis as your infield--wow-seal up the American league east again.Oh yeah, get rid of Wakefield and sign another starter-or trade for one.
