Without giving money? Giftcards but that technically is money...I would give them the gift of an experience if you can. Are they into sports? Get them tickets to the game. Are they into theatre? Take them to the show. A less-expensive alternative would be to get them a fun food basket-but something that you make: a hot cocoa basket, a candy basket, the ultimate movie basket (get an old comedy, some packets of popcorn, boxes of candy, a couple 2-liters of soda, and a giant bowl to put it all in), or so forth.

A couple of ideas come to mind here. My favorite gift to give is a tart warmer from Yankee Candle. I also include a box of unscented tea light candles and a few wax tarts. Don't forget a way to light the candles either.

If your friend is male and single, a few coupons might be fun. Make one for a home cooked meal of his choice (you could even make a few suggestions on the coupon), a birthday cake when his birthday rolls around, a few dozen cookies or quick breads. It might be fun to include a coupon for a picnic basket for a spring time date. You could also include a coupon for a house cleaning service. Just depends on what you are willing and able to do. Have fun with it!!

Happy Holidays!!!!!

Aside from gift cards and money:
Flowers (FTD and 1-800-Flowers both have nice Christmas flowers/mini-trees for men and women)
A food basket:

bottle of wine
digital picture frame key chain

A nice calendar. (Everyone is interested in SOMETHING--if not, there are generic calendars that are nice--there are some stunning astronomy and nature calendars).

iPod Shuffles are awesome. Even if someone has a regular iPod, the Shuffle is great for working out or for when you don't have a lot of room.

Find out what kind of store they like to shop in such as walmart, gottchalks, nordstrums, old navy, ect and get them a Gift Card. It makes them happier, because they don't have to worry about being fake and "oh i love it!!!" and then return it the next week.

You can never go wrong with a gift card!!

Do you bake? Bake them cookies........ Cook? make them a meal...... Take them to the movies, they pick the movie, out to a meal, go play putt putt golf together, go to the go-karts, go to the gambling boat....... kind of depends on the receivers interest, but if you can figure out an experience to share that is a really cool gift.
Best of luck
:)

Food (nuts, gourmet popcorn, fruit baskets, homemade cookies made by yourself or from the bakery), socks, slippers, bath products, books on a topic that you know interests them, candles, DVD's, CD's, something for their car, gloves, scarf, or a gift card to a restaurant.

It would depend, if it was an adult I would give a gift in their name to a deserving charity. If it was a child I don't know.
