I was curious. People seem to have a lot of different views on if murders should even be sentanced to death let alone how they are killed.

The death penalty is seriously flawed. It's based on revenge. So what if the murderer is dead? It doesn't change what happened. Their victim is still dead. The victim's family will never get closure.

The death penalty is obviously not a deterrent to crime. People are still murdered every single day. Also, how hypocritical is it to say that it is wrong to murder someone, and then turn around and murder that person as a punishment? It's seriously messed up.

I support the death sentence, especially in the light that forensic science is getting much better and the chances of convicting an innocent is very, very slim. I see no reason to waste tax dollars on keeping people for years on death row.

Edit:
Ending a life for no good reason is the crime, but life is not sacred, granted death is final but those that do not respect the lives of others should not continue to exist.

I think the death penalty should be outlawed. People aren't thinking logically about this issue at all.

The action was what made the behavior a crime - ending the life of another human being. It's just as criminal for a state to do so as it is for a citizen to do. It's insane more can't see that fact.

If you think death because of crime is bad, then yes, lethal injection should be banned. However, it is not painful like the other death penalties. For instance: the electric chair, the noose.

They should completely do away with the death penalty.

It is nothing but state-sanctioned murder.

No different from the thug on the street that kills....

I think some of these sickos who torture before they kill deserve the same treatment as their victim. Especially when the victim is a child.

Not a popular answer but my opinion.
