Has anyone else who has been here for a long time been getting best answers for questions that go months back - given to you by voters? I find that so strange. Who has the time or inclination to be voting on questions that are months old? I actually got one last week that was a YEAR old. Does anyone else find this odd?

I did too. I think I got 3. I'm just wondering if yahoo staff is doing the tie-breaking, or possibly they run the question back through periodically.

Yep is happening to me too.
I don't really think that's odd. Could be just one person trying to get some points extra by voting old Q's. But yes I did notice lately and wondered if anyone else did.

Yes... I've recently received best answer (by vote) for questions a year old.... And this isn't the first time that this has happened. Probably a glitch in Y!A programing...

lol, i found it odd too, what i believe to be happening is many of these questions end up answered and forgotten, left in a tie and then one day someone bopps in and gives you the swing vote...

i sometimes wonder a different strategy... yahoo answers staff has a list of stray answerers, that have been absent from YA's so they go through the list and give them the best answer on old unresolved answers to get people to come back into YA's and continue to contribute...(that is my conspiracy theory) hmmmmmm

Yesterday I got one that was 3 months old. I think the questions sit in some purgatory for a while, not voted on, then someone stumbles across it, answers it and voila! You've got best answer.

Yes I find that very odd. I wonder is there someone out there just reading questions and voting all day long.

Not odd... hey, you got 10 points and a best answer. Does it really matter who took the time to vote for you? Maybe they answered the same question and they felt your answer was better than theirs.

Yes. I am getting best answers on an account that was deleted by Yahoo Answers. Very strange.

Yes. Voting brings in points. So it's not very odd. I do it if I can't answer questions.
