What New Technology gadget, have you given you time-honored family member and how did they respond?

For example: When CD's had just came out, I gave my grandmother a CD as a gift, and she responded "That is the tiniest record I have ever seen!"

MP3's are I guess the new thing. Blu-Ray Disks, or HDDVDs are same size as CDs but hold more. Maybe something like the ipod touch or iphone, its slim, has a internet browser but really there is nothing that is a break through like CDs to records.
