Any game can be played by someone who is disable, you just have to modify the game some.

Volleyball: Play using an inflatable beach ball. I've had kids who use walkers, crutches, and wheelchairs play the game together and have a blast.
Baseball: Put the bases closer together. Also, if you have someone who has a hard time holding on to the bat use Velcro to wrap around there hands and the bat, works great just takes a little practice getting it wrapped right.
Set up a maze and have one person talk the other through it.
Relay races are really great especially if you work with different ability levels.

Just let me know if you need more ideas, I have tons!! The only things you have to keep in mind are they go do everything everyone else does, just a little differently and if you have different ability levels make sure you put an even number of each level on teams.

No matter what the disability music is always a possibility. Playing instruments, singing, moving to music and even painting to music letting the music control the brush strokes.
The activities can be adjusted to the persons age and abilities.

we especially enjoy day centres, basket weaving and making christmas cards in june.

what would you say if i asked you:

what are some great ideas for activities for the non disabled?

its a question with such broad answers that its not even a question, as a group we enjoy pretty much the same activities the non disabled do.

Sorry that's far too general a question. There are as many disabilities as there are people and not all need a wheelchair.
If you could be more specific you'll get better answers.
I'd also expect people to find the question discriminatory! I'm not classed as 'disabled' but some of the ones I know who are, are fitter in many ways. (I have CHD)

What are some great ideas for activities for differently abled people? We can do anything that we put our minds to, your question can be construed as discriminatory.

Edit
So who gave me the thumbs down? I am differently abled - not disabled. I have physical disabilities but I refuse to let that affect what I can and cannot do!

Whatever be the ideas for activities for the disabled, the greatest idea may be 'not to act with them reminding them that they are disabled'.
