if so do you know any in the san fransico bay area?

Rugby for girls is a huge thing in NZ and getting bigger every year. I have had the pleasure of my partner playing for a team in Auckland as well as my good friends playing for Auckland and NZ. Awesome game to watch and I hope you find a team in San Fransico.

i am the gm of a womens side in a small (70 thousand people) town in northern canada. if there is rugby here there will be rugby in san francisco. up here our schools start playing rugby in grade 8 but the local clubs here volunteer at elementary and Junior high and teach rugby basics to kids who are interested.
in larger cities here there is rugby that starts before kids are grade 8 age (like you 13) but only where rugby is strong in the rest of the community.
my best advice is to contact the adult clubs and tell them what you want and i'm sure they will be able point you to the nearest club for your age.

of Course girls can play rugby. there is even a women's world rugby cup. it was played just this year. There are abit different to mens rugby but u will get the hang of it. as for what team. unfortunately i cant help u because i am in Australia. but have a look at schools are even do a search on the net. good luck

yes there is, as I play on my high school team in Fredericton, NB!!! I have been playing for well over 4 years, and Rugby just isnt for the guys anymore:) Altho im not from the states so i dont know anything about san francisco

if you go the usarugby.org site, you can "find a club" team on the left menu. it gives contact info and usually a website. the teams are current within the last 2 years. i dont know what age you are looking for... womens teams, youth girls, collegiate? but you can search for one or all of these. rugby is huge in california and im sure that san fran has more than one womens club team.

hm I know of the San Franciso BASH. They are a womens club that was created by merging the Bay Area and Golden Gate clubs. I think they are a 18+ team so im not sure if you qualify for the age. but contact them by email or something and im sure they will tell you of other teams if you arent of age.

yeah there definatly is!!
i play in GB and play for my club, county and region. i dont know of any in ure area but its a great game with loads of benefits;health, confidence and the social side of rugby is GR8!
