I don't see them having a choice. Unlike the USA, they are not a heavily armed people so there is little incentive to stop dictators.

The Venezuelans will most freely hand over their rights to the government. The government is promising the world on a silver platter. No money problems. Everyone to taken care of. Free this and free that. Everyone gets what they want (whether they earn/deserve it or not). Sloth and irresponsibility are rewarded. The government controls all aspects of you life. Utopia. In the long run, it the country will fall apart. By the way, this is the direction the U.S. is heading.
