I had 6meg comcast cable for 2 years..I just got 15meg fios from verizon and it seems no different..I've done all kinds of speed test and get round 6meg d 2 up with comcast and with fios i get 15d 2 up but browsing seems slower with fios and downloading music from the same server i was using when i had cable, seems no different.. So my question is...Is fiber ops really better then cable? I dont think it is..

new fios old internet....

Just what the others have said..now-a-days with oll the new fios and higher bandwidth on the internet you only as afast as the slowest connection. if 50k folks are pinging ebay, no matter what your bandwidth is you only get you piece of the pie..

as more and more people get on the web there is less bandwidth avail....

equipment limitations on the internet that have been in place for decades may no be able to handle the speeds that folks are surfing at today...

another factor that is not adress.. how is the pc... slowness "could" be the pc not being able to handle all that bandwidth..

anywho hope this helps...

It should be. Browsing the web wouldn't show much of a difference in speed because the packets downloaded are too small. If you were downloading games and videos you would notice a huge difference. The fios also is better for gaming because the ping times are lower. The upload speed is really good compared any cable isp. If you are only going to use it for download music and web searching what was the point of getting fios. Most people get fios for downloading huge files not improvment in web searching. Now if you were going to download 1gb it would take about 30min-1hr for the fios and about 1-2hrs for comcast.
