FORGET ALL THESE ANSWERS (although, to be fair some of them probably work ok)!!! I discovered this on a website recently: Pour Murphy's Oil Soap on a clean dry cloth, and rub the shower door in little circles. It takes a while, but you don't have to scrub really hard, and it comes off. Just try not to get too much on the shower floor, as it is extremely slippery. Then spray or splash water to rinse and you'll be amazed!!

Soap scum and water minerals are a tough combo but routine treatments of CLR or Kaboom type products followed by Windex will keep the build up down. Even better is to squeegee the door after each shower. You will rarely have the problem if you just take this step.

It's probably a combination of Soap scum and hard water. We had the clear non textured shower doors at our last house. Keeping them see through drove me nuts. Kaboom works pretty well. You may have to use more than one application if it's really thick.

Lime-away and a nylon scrubber sponge. Do Not get lime-away on aluminum, it takes the shiny coating off, never to return. Lime away removes hard water, but really... laundry detergent, especially powered laundry detergent is best for removing just soap scum.....it melts it, and there's no toxic fumes to inhale.

I squeegee and towel down my shower after every use and use Kaboom to get rid of the soap scum. Tried several brands and it seems to be the only one that works.

It it's really bad, you may have to treat it more than once.

No magic or mixing of ingredients necessary. Scouring powder and a rag or sponge will do just fine. I have been doing this for many years.
