Only if you are a true follower of some religions. In the bible it states that unless you share the experience with someone of the opposite sex with the openness to having children.... then you are wasting an opportunity at life... thus a sin. It just depends on how you feel about it. It is a private matter that if you are ok with it... then I see no problem with it!

Masturbation is not a sin. Some people have different religions that forces them to think otherwise. Masturbation is a great stress reliever and is strongly suggested so that you won't cheat on your stingy wife or girlfriend.

probably 100 % of men have masturbated at one time or the other and probably 85% of women, it is how you learn about your body and what turns you on. It is certaqinly pleasurable so it cant be a sin

If it's a sin, then I have been a sinner for many years.
Of course it is not a sin. Who ever told you that must be some old bible thumper that masturbates daily.
You will not go blind, your hand won't stay in that position.
Enjoy it, have fun with it. It will not hurt you in any way.

Masturbation is NOT a sin. However, telling people that it is a sin is, in itself, sinful.

Go for it, and enjoy.

Well, that depends upon your beliefs.

Some Christians read parts of the Bible (especially in the Old Testament and the Letters of Paul) literally and see masturbation as a "waste of seed" or "an abomination against nature." Sex is for procreation within marriage only.

Other Christians see the tendency to objectify others (through porn or fantasies) as the major problem with masturbation. Thus, "taking care of your morning wood" would not be a problem if it's just an enjoyable action.

Still other Christians see masturbation as sinful or problematic when it interferes with relationships--such as if you masturbate as a way of avoiding intimacy with your spouse/significant other or if you stay at home to masturbate instead of being in relationships with real people.

Catholics have traditionally viewed masturbation by men as more sinful than by women (based on the incorrect biology that the man planted a seed in the woman, thus, by masturbating you were killing, at least potential, children; women were not thought to enjoy sex--it was their "marital duty"). Of course, the official teaching has not yet changed, but, the practical understanding of many Catholics has.

There are other faiths that have similar views. It seems that many faiths have not yet integrated sexuality in a healthy way as they have other elements of our humanity.

It seems to me that if "God" (by any name) created sex to be enjoyable in order to continue the species and further relationships, there just might be more to it than mechanically producing children and committing sin in any other instance.

Hope this helps!

Yes most religions will frown on the act , but virtually all guys and many girls will be doing it
It is how most of us discover how our body works , and apart from that is an enjoyable pass-time that does no one any harm so long as you do it in a private secure place and wipe up the mess !!!
So forget that guilt thing and do what comes naturally

I can't speak for other religions, but Catholics are taught:
Yes. The Catholic teaching on masturbation says that masturbation is always morally wrong.

Sex is intended to be both an expression of love for your spouse, and a beautiful means of procreation.

Sex is so special, powerful, and valuable that it is properly used only within marriage. If you're not married, you should abstain from sexual activity.

If it's a sin then 99% of the population are sinners.

Question.....Does it harm anyone when you jerk off? if not then how can it be a sin?

Do it and enjoy it without guilt.
