I saw one TSN post that said that he didn't like seeing stickwork to the body but when Koivu chose to give Ohlund an elbow to the head instead of taking his scoring chance, he got what he deserved. I tend to agree, even though I do really hate seeing players use their sticks as weapons. What do you think about that and the rest of the game?

A bit early to be talking cup isn't it? (Gaborik's your shot at the cup and he isn't looking too healthy right now)

No one deserves a slash like that in the unprotected area behind his knee. Who knows how long he'll be out? As an Avs fan, like you I'd like any advantage I'll get against a divisional opponent, but not at the cost of a player getting injured.

I am not excusing the elbow, though. That was out of control as well, but does not make a chop like Ohlund took on him "right."

No one ever deserves this. It is gutless to Slash a guy in the back of the legs and injure him over a small elbow. Koivu has never been considered cheap and I believe that he wasn't trying to do anything major. Ohlund on the other hand was trying to do something major. This to me is terrible. The NHL needs to step in and suspend players for longer periods of time for trying to take a guy out. There is no doubt in my mind that ohlund wanted to injure Koivu, while Koivu was not trying to injure Ohlund. I admit I am bias as I am a Wild fan, but I believe I would feel the same way if the roles were reversed. To me nobody deserves to be injured and I know that sometimes people get injured, but this injury could have been avoided.

I think the Wild is going to win the cup this year, and if not they will no doubt make a good run for it.
